Hey all, anyone have successful experience with these utilities? I'm doing ok, but I'm not fully there! I'd appreciate some help.
I want to create a custom global hotkey. I think I have successfully gotten that far, but it won't work across the board. I'm wondering if I now, need to figure out how to associate the set file.
Any guidance is appreciated.
are you trying to do this for one set file or as a global setting? if it's just one setfile I would recommend running the application and then going to the window-eyes control pannel and creating the key and saving the file. It should then associate with the application. If you want this to be a global setting take a setfile and run settotext. then edit it so the only entry is the one for the hotkey. basicly you should have a one line file. Save it and then when you run text to set in the box that asks for the input file type the name of the file you saved and in the output files edit field put *.0* where 0* covers the setfile extention.
Thank you. AS far as I can tell, I did that. For a .0 file, can I only have one line? I decided to change 2 hot keys. I saved as .0, and inconsistently, it works. I need to open my set file each time. I was hoping it would just exist, like all the other hot keys.
I am a little confused. the *.0* simply says save this setting to all setfiles since they can be anything from .000 to any number. once you have completed text to set all your files should be converted so it shouldn't matter which one you open. Sometimes you may need to reassociate a set file with the particular application you are using.
